Satellites from NASA and NOAA have been tracking and analyzing powerful Hurricane Matthew since its birth just east of the Leeward Islands on Sept. 28.

Hurricane Matthew
The GPM satellite captured this precipitation data from Hurricane Matthew on the morning of October 2nd, 2016, when Matthew was a Category 4 Hurricane immediately south of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
