The incorporation of Earth observations, like NASA satellite data on air pollution, has helped improve the accuracy of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Air Quality Forecast Capability by approximately 38%. This information contributes to daily Air Quality Index (AQI) forecasts created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which many Americans rely on to inform decisions to protect their health.
