Working remotely from California, Minnesota, Virginia and New York (and sometimes other locales), five interns are sharing their skills and enthusiasm with the Capacity Building program area. After gathering leading practices used within NASA and the broader Capacity Building community, the five created their own micro-learning training focused on introducing youth to remote sensing and satellite observation applications in cities.

Having come on board last fall, they continue their work this spring and are working together to research and evaluate different approaches to conducting virtual trainings. They’ve also supported the program with research and writing for things like the program annual report and are helping create a “webinar toolkit” for the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites.

We appreciate the team’s efforts and many contributions. Over the next few weeks, we’re excited to give you the opportunity to meet Ella, Rachel, Shilpa, Monica and Barri’ through a series of Q&A profiles. It is a pleasure to work with them and we love their passion for helping others learn about the many applications of Earth observations! We hope you enjoy getting to know them as much as we have.
