Building Resilience through Disaster Risk Reduction, Response, Recovery and Reconstruction in the 2030 Agenda
The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) has partnered with the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) to establish the APRU Multi-hazards Program, to address the need for research to contribute to disaster risk reduction in disaster-prone countries of the Pacific Rim. As part of the APRU Multi-hazards Program, the 15th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium will be held at Tec de Monterrey Mexico City, on October 28-November 1, 2019.
The Multi-hazards Symposium 2019, Building Resilience through Disaster Risk Reduction, Response, Recovery & Reconstruction in the 2030 Agenda is focusing on how disasters and development are associated at the global, regional, and national levels and in what way disaster risk reduction (DRR) is understood as an integral part of social and economic development and contributes for development to be sustainable for the future. The Symposium aims to explore the role universities play in delivering the objectives of the Sendai Framework on Disasters Risk Reduction and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The Multi Hazards Symposium 2019, Building Resilience through Disaster Risk Reduction, Response, Recovery & Reconstruction in the 2030 Agenda provides an excellent opportunity to share and exchange advancement in research, technologies and applications for academics and professionals.
